Peru National Team played the first world championship in 2011

Peru has a great football 7 tradition. The country's national team has competed in international competitions since the first World Championship, held in 2011 in Rio de Janeiro. There are 12 years of history in the modality and twice it was a continental finalist and once a semifinalist of the World Championship.

The Football 7 World Championship is in its eighth edition and the last final was between Brazil and Russia. The Brazilian team was the champion. The next edition of the competition is in Puebla (Mexico) and will be played in two events. In the first event between national teams and in the second event between clubs.
