Canada will participate in the Football 7 World Championship in Mexico. The country participated in the first edition of the event in 2011 in Rio de Janeiro and in 2023 it will be among the teams that will compete for the world title.
Leading this project to develop 7-a-side football in Canada are Leandro Silva, a former athlete and coach, and Adler Jean Baptiste, who works with the professional development of young people.
The two sports leaders founded Foot7 Canada, which will hold sporting events, provide opportunities for teenagers and adults, men and women to practice football 7.
The World Championship is divided into two disciplines and categories. Between the 7th and 10th of September, the men's and women's national teams will compete for the title. Between September 11th and 14th, clubs participate in the competition.
Foot7 Canada is solely responsible for Football 7 in Canada on behalf of the International Federation.
